Winkarst 6.2 (version February 1999,
by Garry Petrie, Win95/98) I really like it! Garry Petrie has completely
reprogrammed his excellent software. A lof of bugfixes, 3D - export function
(dxf-file) and 3D - real time rotation make it a very fine and useful tool
for visualizing cave data. Coming with CAPS and Compass filters. To move
alongside cave passages is a very simple and fast mouse-controlled process
and real fun! The best thing about it is: there is a survey editor now!
Moreover GPS-data can be used in conjunction with the survey and a rose
diagram can be plotted.
Absolute coordinates can be used and therefore complex cave systems
can be created
(containing several caves). Without doubt one of the most powerful
cave surveying tools
available! Still freeware, but this is going to change with the next
version available.
-
Karst256 (version 1995) An MS-DOS
programm created by Garry Petrie. Excellent for outdoor usage on low-cost
notebooks (286). Further information
on Garry Petries software is available on his American homepage.
-
For Compass and Wincompass there is now a German Mirrorsite, maintained
by Roger Schuster at http://www.karst.net.
-
Walls (Win 95), a new and very promising cave
surveying program, created by David McKenzie, which is being used for surveying
the famous Hauatla - System in Mexico.
Most impressing is the ability to convert cave data into VRML which
can visualized by a normal WWW-browser like Netscape. Currently only raw
shots can be converted into VRML, but this is fascinating, too.
Also a VRML-Viewer is available.
-
Tauchsimulator
(in German, on original server, MS-DOS), a freeware Bühlmann ZH-L16A
decompressions software.
Note: deco is very short, due to the pure ZH-L16A tissue model, used!
-
New: Dekosim 1.01, the first Java-Trimix-Dekoapplet
on the Web!
-
Datatrak-Utility (in
German, on original server, Win 3.x). The missing link!! This additional
utility can be used for exporting data to Excel and zooming dive profiles,
originally gained by using the Datatrak - Computer Interface.
A 3D - overview can be shown by entering compass data.We are currently
using this software for planning our multi-level cave dives.
-
Unzip.exe (version 1995, MS-DOS). The
very short and nevertheless very useful extracting tool
for zip-packed files.
